Highgate House, London

ELDRIDGE SMERIN ARCHITECTS

As Project Architect at Eldridge Smerin, George was responsible for designing and overseeing this award-winning house over three years from concept to completion in 2008.

Located on the edge of Highgate Cemetery the house is built from an exposed in-situ concrete structure and clad externally with dark granite and glass. Internally the project includes bog-oak and lacquer finished joinery, with incredible views overlooking the cemetery.

The project won an RIBA national award, as well as being shortlisted for the Manser Medal and the Stephen Lawrence Prize for Architecture in 2009. It has also appeared on numerous TV dramas including Luther and Silent Witness.
